There is a waft of fresh spring air that seems to be wafting around our church community as we prepare for Easter celebrations. There is much joy and excitement as the spiritual and physical preparations are creating much anticipated joy.
For the days of lent we used the Book of Joshua to build a faith which encourages courage as a testimony of God’s powerful presence in our midst. During these Forty days of lent we journeyed with Joshua as he led God’s people through their fears of the cold, treacherous waters of the river Jordan. We like them shared in the experiences of passage from death to life, slavery to freedom, fearful wanderers to faithful conquerors, circumcision to baptism. Many growth experiences emanated in the renewed Sunday School ministry, Finance, Media/Website, Rahway Outreach project, Elizabeth Property Development and worship committees. We boldly enhanced our worship to become more inclusive of our Haitian and Spanish members.
Easter we will gather to celebrate! Easter we will sing out the praises to our God. The music will be led by our children’s music ministry.
Many will be journeying to St Elizabeth’s from California and Washington DC to baptize their babies into the faith of the Risen Christ at their spiritual home of St Elizabeth’s. The celebrations will be augmented with our Easter Thanksgiving ingathering Offering, Easter egg hunt for kids , Easter bonnet parade for adults and a brunch featuring local models in a fashion parade.
Join us for Easter, a celebration of Godly courage.
Christ is Risen:
The Lord is Risen Indeed:
Amen
